Over the years, Sydneysiders have been described as arrogant, brash, larrikins and, god forbid, snobs. And, well, the Shire was a long way away.

We didn’t bother going north – we were waiting for the bridge.

Government House was built to the east, and the convicts were sent to the west – the original westies. Our first Europeans settled in The Rocks and Millers Point so they could look out onto the ‘world’s greatest harbour’. Twenty-two days later, Melbourne was declared a town – they always were a little slower than us. 64 years later, it celebrated when, in 1842, Governor Gipps sealed an Act declaring the township of Sydney to be Australia’s first city. There is also a late bus available after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from the O'Plaine campus.Born under dubious circumstances in 1788, Sydney didn’t take long to realise its potential. Transportation is also provided for clubs that have competitions at other schools. WTHS provides shuttle buses after school that run from campus to campus to allow students to attend practices and meetings. Students are encouraged to listen to morning announcements, read the posted announcements online or in the building, preview the TV's at either campus, contact sponsors, or visit the website to find out information regarding meeting dates and times. All student participants are required to follow the Activity Code of Conduct set forth by the Board of Education. Additionally, we have clubs or teams that require tryouts, nominations, class enrollment, or committed attendance. Open membership activities can be attended at any point in the year and are open to all students. Warren Township High School offers over 60 activities including open membership, academic honorary, IHSA competitive, regional competitive, performing arts, fine arts, and service organizations.
